It was all the more poignant to me because George and I had met less than two weeks earlier at the Argus Day, and he had helped set us up at the Argus Museum for my talk. We met at dinner again, and it was hard to talk because the bar was noisy, but George had told me that he wanted to meet with me again soon to talk about some things, and that was the last thing I had heard from him, other than "Hey, it's good to have you as a friend, and I look forward to getting together."

Digital photo frames have become one of the most popular electronics gifts for teens, parents, and grandparents. Jumping on this trend, Kodak has introduced the Wi-Fi–enabled EasyShare EX811 ($229.95 direct), a versatile display that suffers a bit in terms of image quality.

The EX811 has an 8-inch, 16:9 widescreen that can display pictures and video and play MP3s. Measuring 11.2 by 8.3 by 1.5 inches (HWD) and weighing 1.7 pounds, the frame is powered by a 12-volt adapter with a power brick and a conveniently long cord. Manual controls are located on the top of the frame for navigating through photos, accessing the menu, and playing a music slide show. The included remote control can be stowed away in a removable plastic holder on the back.
