Geotagging kind of loses its appeal when it’s cutting your battery life to ribbons, which is where GeoPic II comes in. The unit slides into your DSLR’s hot shoe and embeds GPS information off of a SiRFstar III chip onto your photo’s meta data, just like the competition, but what sets the GeoPic II apart is that in comparison to its predecessor, the unit get three times as much battery life, allowing you to tag a good many more photos. The device accomplishes this by only streaming GPS data to the camera when needed, which sounds like a given, but apparently took a good bit of R&D to pull off. There’s no telling how this tech compares in power savings to NXP’s swGPS, which was built with a similar purpose, but GeoPic II is available now for £200 ($408 US), while swGPS hasn’t quite made it out of the labs just yet. GeoPic II is compatible with most Nikon DSLRs and the Fuji S5 Pro.

I had the good fortune to attend the Photoshop CS3 Power Tour with Scott Kelby last week in Boston and it was outstanding! It was one of those days that started out great and just went up from there.
In coming posts I will share some of the things I learned that day.
Check this link for the remaining dates of the Photoshop CS3 Power Tour (as well as other NAPP seminars), Dave Cross will be the host for the second leg of the tour, and this link will give you the class schedule.
The cost for this day full of great tips and techniques is $99, if you are a NAPP member it is only $79.
Not a NAPP member? You should be and this link will show you how to save 30% on your NAPP membership, you will find it starting on paragraph 3 of this post.
Lastly, if I could ask a favor of you, if you find this blog helpful/informative would you share it with a friend?
Thanks!

Cayse on his way to a goal!!
Gimme 10 Bud!
Another one!!
After the game:
I was so proud of my guy this weekend: He had score a few goals during the game and has about 10 under his belt for the season. During the game he got a break-away with a little guy on his team- Justin- who had never scored a goal. I yelled to Cayse to pass it to him and without hesitation he did just that. Justin scored and had the hugest smile on his face. Caysen was so proud and so was I. I love that guy!!
