Selling Photos On Your Own Website – How One Person Did It

It’s one thing to sell your work through a print on demand website like Imagekind or a photo library like Alamy. But what about selling your photos on your very own site? That way you not only get to keep all the profit but have the satisfaction of creating and growing your own business. That’s what Jason did with Fotoviva, an online company that sells high quality photo art prints in the UK.

magical

He told me that he had started selling some of his images on istockphoto.com, and was looking for a way of selling his more artistic photos as canvas or poster prints which would suit the home market rather than stock. As he runs his own web design company he saw no need to sell his photos on another website and decided to create his own.

Software Review - Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0

Written By T. Michael Testi

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 is the latest release from the Adobe Photoshop family. By now most readers are aware of the release of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 early in the spring of 2007 (now on version 1.2), and the release of both versions of Adobe Photoshop CS3; Standard and Extended, that happened later in the spring. Well Fall, 2007 brings the release of Elements 6.0.

Just what is Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0? It is the little brother of the industry standard digital imaging software product Adobe Photoshop; in this case CS3. Photoshop is considered by many to be the best digital imaging product on the planet. While Photoshop is great for the professional, it is not always good for casual user, or amateur for a couple of reasons. First, with a high end

Eye-Fi’s 2GB SD wireless card hits the FCC

10-19-07-eyefisdcard2 It’s taken nearly a full year, but Eye-Fi has finally gotten around to doubling the capacity of its multifaceted SD card. The Eye-Fi-2GB provides the same WiFi-enabling capabilities to any SD-ready digital camera, but this one looks to pack 2GB of capacity to handle even more snaps. From what we can tell by peeking the (apparently scanned in) user’s manual, the card will be compatible with both Macs and PCs, but of course, we’ve no idea how much this thing will cost you when it finally hits shelves. Rest assured, we’ll be finding out soon enough.

Review: 6 Months With A Pentax K10D, Part 1

At home in my storage room, which is a tiny little room in our miniature apartment in Brooklyn, most of my camera gear sits clean and organized in milky plastic boxes I bought at Ikea a few years ago. I like to keep things orderly and well cared for when I'm not using them, if only so that if we ever move to a bigger space everything is all ready to go. My tripods and light stands are in a special durable nylon zipper bag, and the smaller items like extra lens caps, cloths, blowers, and flash cables are kept in transparent art supply tote cases. But aside from all this, I have one special waterproof camera bag, a Domke Dri-Safe Pouch, where I keep the stuff I'm most likely to use any given day. I call this my "go bag." Padded inside with a protective wrap for cushioning, it's just big enough for a flash gun and a large camera, but light enough to throw on my shoulder or inside a messenger bag. The camera that gets the coveted go bag position is the one I want to use most, not necessarily the one that's the most expensive.

For the last six months I've been using a Pentax K10D as the camera in my go bag. A lot has already been written about this camera, and I highly recommend Bruce Robbins' or Carl Weese's blog and the K10D Book. My own...

cenOmax launch lower price digital photo frame with MP3 playback

photo_frame_digital The newly launched 7" F7012A cenOmax digital photo frame doesn’t offer any earthshattering new features for such a device, but it is offered at the very reasonable price of £48. There are built in audio and visual effects, MP3 playback and auto-rotate and resize functions too.

The alarm and calendar are little extras thrown in too, and the multi-card reader can handle most commonly-used image storage cards. The internal memory only holds about 15 photos, so it’s worth just keeping your collection on external media.
