AIP-PMA conference success

The UK leg of this year's PMA Europe conferences, held in Droitwich in October, proved highly successful for PMA and its members, and also for the newly formed AIP (Association of Imaging Professionals) which enjoyed its inaugural gathering.

The conference sessions and a trade exhibition geared to cover both the retail side of the industry via PMA and image production professionals via AIP produced an exciting and extensive programme for delegates at the 2007 PMA Europe conferences.

AIP members who have transferred from the now superseded PPLA (Professional Photographic Laboratories Association), along with those potential members coming from companies involved in all aspects of imaging and image printing - all of which now qualify for membership - had their own strands of conference sessions covering fields of direct interest to them, while other sessions either related to the photo retail sector in particular or to the imaging industry in general.

The exhibition arena also catered for both aspects of the industry, with companies displaying products and services with emphasis on the different fields, or, in some cases, able to accommodate both aspects via their ranges.

Fujifilm was one company which straddled all aspects of imaging - Peter Hayward, head of the photofinishing business unit, commented that the real benefit of such an event was in being able to maintain contact with established customers across the industry, as well as developing new business...
