Horns 2

Good Morning Everybody,

Today I’m announcing my Digital WakeUp Call Success Collection and I’m thrilled!  Why? Because nobody has ever offered so much "honest to goodness value" in one package!

I have been working with my video team, designers, and a special group of vendors for the last four months to bring this whole project together.

The result is about the most jam-packed collection of training resources, exciting design and workflow software, and success tools ever assembled in one package!

Just Check out everything that's included! It's amazing!

DWUC Ad

Yes, all this for only $89.95 – a $600 value!

Hey, I don’t hardly believe it either! Hold on to your seats and Just look at what I’ve included thanks to the generosity of all involved.

1. First off, we've taken my "rapid fire" 4 1/2 hour Digital WakeUp Call presentation, edited it together into a very jazzy, fast paced presentation that captures all the fun we experienced in the 60 cities we visited. Then we added nearly 5 more hours of content to the video collection. I’ll tell you, it ROCKS! All the information and the fun that we had during the tour is captured vividly in this 5 DVD (9 hour) collection.

Technique Tuesday: Top 10 Technique Tuesdays For 2009

Good Morning Everybody,

Sunset - Jan 10 Well, we landed in Atlanta last evening after a magnificent drive through the mountains watching one of the most beautiful sunsets ever.  I think the colors lasted for over an hour.  Those kinds of evenings sure make our road trips worth it.

We stayed with my good buddy, Denis Reggie.  Denis is one of the best and most successful wedding photographers I know and we've known each other over 23 years. Mr. Reggie is the person who coined the term "wedding photojournalism" many years ago and has been a major influence in our profession for the past several years.

Plan to catch Denis' programs at all the major conventions this year. He always fires up the crowds and definitely gets you thinking about how to shoot your images and run your business. In fact he will be at Imaging USA next week.  If you want to delve deeper you might want to invest in a few days with Denis at his in studio programs. You can get more info on Denis' upcoming in studio programs right here.

Hope you enjoy the re-read of yesterday's Top 10 most popular posts.  For me it was fun to look back over the posts too. But now on to the really good stuff.  My Technique Tuesday episodes have been favorite posts for quite a while.

Today,

Painting With “God’s Light” For Beautiful Portraits

Good Morning Everybody,

Well, the holidays are upon us and I hope y'all ( and us too)don't get buried in the hustle and bustle. The album project I mentioned in last Friday's "Frantic Friday" post [link] is just about complete. We wrapped the edit on Saturday morning.  LaDawn had most of the album design completed on Monday.

Africa Album

Both of us worked together in putting the final tweaks on the design and  we spent a good bit of yesterday getting it printed and coated.  Today we'll fine tune any pages that need it and reprint them.  The next step is to trim and organize the images in proper sequence.

Once that step is complete, we can mount the images in the album.  The album, by the way is being shipped later today from Zookbinders.  It should arrive first thing tomorrow at which time we will swing into "high gear" and add the images.  Anyway, looks like we will be delivering it on time Thursday evening for our client. Whew!!!

Hey, time to get on with another Technique Tuesday.  Here we go...

Favorite Things Friday’s - My 2000 DPT Post!

Good Afternoon Everybody,

2000-Fireworks - iStock_000004279531XSmall I knew I was getting close but today is the day.  Yep, it’s my 2000th post here at DigitalProTalk.com! That means to date at DigitalProTalk that you can read over 1.4 million words on  Photography, Lighting, Photoshop, Lightroom, Business Building, Sales, and Marketing – and most ALL of it is original content!

You can view over 500 “Image of The Day” posts most with all the EXIF data and back story of each shot.

You can also view over 100 video tutorials on Lighting, Lightroom, Photography, and Photoshop posted over these last 24+ months.

So how many words is that? Well, if you had to read Tolstoy’s “War and Peace” in high school - as I did – and it was a long read totaling over 560,000 words, then DPT to date is well over twice as long.

1 - LaDawn 800x800 px IMG_0093a In those early days, it was tough to get the posts up on a daily basis.  Even today, many times, even when time is short, I always managed to get the posts up many times to the consternation of my blog editor.

And my blog editor? – Well, a GREAT BIG thanks goes to LaDawn who proofs nearly all the posts, correcting

Technique Tuesday: 5 Good Ideas - Uh, Tomorrow?, and Revisiting a Classic

There are so many booth presentations going on - so much learning, so little time to take it all in - I'm getting tidbits from many of them and hoping to get them posted through out the week. My plan is to have tiny video segments containing one good idea from that particular speaker. We'll see how it works out. I'm cruising the show again today - stay tuned.br /br /In today's Technique Tuesday, I'm going to revisit a classic past post entitled, "Easy John Henry". Technique Tuesday: Is Lightroom Faster Than Photoshop?

I promise each and everyone of you a jam-packed, information filled, fun evening. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone there.br /br /strongemspan style="color:#cc9933;"Is Lightroom Faster Than Photoshop?/span/em/strongbr /A few months ago I re-ran one of my very early tutorials entitled, "a id="qvy9" title="Rocky Mountain High" href="http://digitalprotalk.blogspot.com/search?q=rocky+mountain+high" target="_blank" goog_docs_charindex="6905"Rocky Mountain High/a" [a id="g7l_" title="link" href="http://digitalprotalk.blogspot.com/search?q=rocky+mountain+high" target="_blank" goog_docs_charindex="6929"link/a]. I loved the tutorial because it showed how I solve the problem we portrait photographers sometimes encounter - dark, variable backgrounds. A couple readers commented wondering if I would have used Lightroom now that's its available.br /br /Well, I decided to revisit the image and test out the hypothesis of whether Lightroom would be faster than Photoshop in this instance. You may notice that the length of the previous Photoshop tutorial runs a few seconds shorter, that's because I've gotten much longer winded these days. Hit the PLAY button below and you be the judge as to which solution gives the best result. Technique Tuesday: Revisiting A Classic - Rock Mountain High

Good Morning Everyone,
I know, I know - what happened to that tutorial on "Finding The Light" I've been talking about? Well, it just wasn't meant to be today. I woke up with a major "bug" yesterday, spent 3 hours in the doctor's office and pharmacy and was down most of the day.
I thought I would just put together a quick substitution, but then was reminded by my very sore throat that I could hardly talk. LaDawn suggested I do what network TV does when they run into content issues or when Letterman or Leno are under the weather, on vacation, or out of town on a gig - run a re-run. Oops - Encore presentation!

I stressed about the suggestion, fretted about the impact here at DigitalProTalk.com - Would my readers leave in droves claiming that, "Ziser just runs the same old stuff, let's see what's happening over at the Strobist?" No, no - please don't go!!!

I wrestled with my decision, but then heartbroken decided to take her advice. Hey, it sure beats a "No Blog" Tuesday, doesn't it? So today, I give you "Rocky Mountain High - the Director's cut." Well, it's not really a director's cut, but it's still a terrific episode.

Why am I running this episode? Because it represents a very early episode which...

Quick Hit Monday: What Recession; Canon 50D Review; 50 Photography Photoshop Tutorials

Good morning everybody,
Well we made it back to Cincy late yesterday afternoon - a much easier drive if you blow off the scenic route at midnight over the mountains in the fog as we traveled last Sunday making our arrival into Cashiers N.C. We woke to the first sunny day all week and a gorgeous drive home.

Things are revving up for the holidays around here so I'm making it short and sweet today. The post is
not necessarily holiday related but still a good read and a little giggle along the way. Enjoy!

Recession, What Recession – Seen The Price Of Cameras Lately?
Wow, I hear about the recession every day on the news but have you checked the prices of cameras lately? I caught this story over at 1001 Noisy Cameras last week but it still makes me smile as I read it. It seems that the Canon 5D Mark II has been selling at a premium price because of its limited availability at several places on the Internet. Check out the whole story right here.

And speaking of
high prices, our intrepid newshound at 1001 Noisy Cameras, also posted this hot deal from Willoughby's camera [link]. Wow, at $12,700 for the camera bundle -- what recession?

And did you see
this one over at
